Transportation The most preferred transportation is taxi. There are two kinds of taxi – state taxi service and private taxi services. They differ with the cars’ colors and with the price. Te state taxi are less expensive but do not yield in comfort. All the taxi cars in Dubai are equipped with the fare registers and the fare is about 1.17 dirhams/ km + 3 dirhams for boarding (3.5 dirhams in the night). In average, short drive within the city will cost some 10-15 dirhams. The low cost of the trips is the result of the low cost for fuels.
